The movie starts with the protagonist, Benjamin, tired of his life and wanting to write a novel. The story he choses is an unsolved murder case, he handled as a legal investigator, 20 years back. I have never watched a movie with so many underlying themes like murder mystery, love, lust, grief, revenge and yet ending up being brilliant.

The entire movie runs on 2 main story lines, one obvious - murder case and other not so obvious - an unfinished emotions between Benjamin and Irene. And also the entire movie reflects the contrast of emotions like, unexpressed love and violent lust, public investigation and private investigation etc.,

This movie has vivid characters like - Sandoval, who is Benjamin’s alcoholic colleague and friend, Morales, who is the husband of the victim, Gomez, suspect of the murder case and so on. Every character has an important role is this movie.

Cinematography didn’t catch my attention much, as it has to go along with narrative for such stories, except for one particular scene - unbroken long chasing scene in football stadium. Splendid will be an understatement for such long shot, if no CGI is used.

Overall, a must watch movie for any kind of movie buff.
