Review:

Incendies is a movie based on the play by Wajdi Mouawad with same name. Denis Villeneuve gave life to it on big screen, with his incredible direction.

It is a movie of puzzle, left to be solved by characters in the movie as well as us, audience. Movie starts with twins, being summoned by their mother's employer, after her death. He hands over them two letter left by their mother to them. One letter to her daughter, which she has to deliver to their unknown father. Another to son, to deliver to their unknown brother. Entire movie is about  - how in the process of delivering this letter to their father and brother, they know more about thier mother and truths about her life. All these revelations lead to a preposterous ending.

Denis Villeneuve did an amazing job, handling a complex screenplay and also balancing the story with conflicts of war, religion and human emotions. I liked the way Denis used "Letters" as a medium to tell the story which will have a strong impact on audience.

Mother of twins, Nawal's (Lubna Azabal) performance is compelling and so are other major casts.

Finally, this movie is war time drama, made with raw emotions and unthinkable outcome of the war. Please watch it if you are fan of art of cinema & storytelling, and it is definitely not a "light" watch.
