This book is kind of an allegory of a person on a spiritual journey - But it is not religious or spiritual book. It is a simple yet profound book. This book is about a brahmin, in search of Atman (the ONE), and his experiences in that journey, narrated in a lyrical style.
For me, this book falls somewhere between fiction and non-fiction, along with the plot, it also conveys lot of life lessons (up to readers interpretation) - but definitely a classic and one of my favourites.

I would recommend this book to anyone above 30 years (assuming you would have experienced some life by then, which you can relate to, from this book). If you are younger, read it in anyway and re-read it after years, as you still can experience something new from this book. But If you are expecting a quick read and an entertaining story, please skip this book.
